Volkswagen’s New Good Night Package Transforms the Multivan into the Ultimate Mobile Adventure
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled a new accessory package for the T7 VW Multivan, an ICE-powered minivan unavailable in the United States. The “Good Night” package is designed for adventurers and frequent campers seeking the comfort and convenience of a camper van without the high cost.
Two Versions of the Good Night Package
The package comes in two versions: the ‘basic’ version includes a fold-out bed, storage solutions for the curtains, black-out window shades (including for the panoramic sunroof), and ventilation grilles for the front side windows. The complete package adds a pair of folding chairs and a camping table, perfect for camping excursions.
Custom-built for the Multivan
The fold-out bed, specifically designed for the Multivan, measures 79.5 inches long and 47.6 inches wide, offering ample space for two adults to sleep comfortably. Support for the matters starts with a slatted frame that connects to the vehicle body, not the seats, making it easy to fit the bed in the rear by simply folding the seats flat. Alternatively, ID.Buzz enthusiasts can move and remove the rear seats for more space. Volkswagen has maximized the under-bed storage, making the Multivan even more practical. The Goodnight package is ideal for weekend camping trips, music festivals, or surfing adventures, with plenty of space beneath the bed to store a surfboard. While it may not match the luxury of a Mercedes camper van, it’s still a fantastic option.
Practical and Convenient
The curtains attach quickly to the windows using integrated magnets or plastic tabs, ensuring privacy. For those with a panoramic sunroof, the option to sleep under the stars or cover the glass for more privacy is available. Once the weekend is over, VW ID.Buzz fans can easily fold and stow the bed behind the second row or above the third row of seats. If all seats are needed, the bed can also be removed.
Pricing and Availability
The Good Night package is priced at €2,867.90 ($3,086) for the basic version or €3,355.80 ($3,611) for the complete package with the fold-out table and chairs. It is available for all Multivan variants, regardless of trim or seating configuration. There is hope that Volkswagen will develop a similar option for the ID.Buzz when it arrives at US dealerships later this year (2024).
