Volkswagen Unveils Exciting Updates for 2025 US Lineup: Jetta, ID.Buzz, and More
Volkswagen is updating its US lineup for the 2025 model year, beginning with the launch of the new Jetta and its sporty GLI variant in late Q2 2024. The Jetta has seen a substantial sales increase of 185 percent in the year’s first quarter, becoming the third best-selling model after the Tiguan and Atlas. The 2025 Jetta will receive a mid-cycle facelift with expected updates, including integrating a voice assistant across most 2025 VW models, likely extending to the Golf sedan.
In addition to the Jetta, Volkswagen will introduce refreshed versions of the GTI and R hot hatches for 2025, transitioning exclusively to DSG transmissions. The Taos small crossover is also set for a significant update in late Q3 2024, while the next-generation Tiguan is expected to resemble the European Tayron with a potential three-row layout; expect details will follow later this year (2024). Updates for the Atlas and Atlas Sport for 2025 are minimal after significant changes in 2024, now offering standard features like 15-watt wireless charging and Light Assist, along with new color options.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated ID.Buzz will make its US debut in 2025, featuring various trim levels with rear—or all-wheel drive options and six or seven seats. The ID.4 will undergo minor updates, including enhancements like standard front ventilated seats and new optional packages. The first 2025 VW models are expected at dealerships in September (2024), with the Arteon discontinued and the ID.7 indefinitely postponed.
