Cartoon Characters With Illustrated Volkswagen EVs

Volkswagen has joined forces with ZAG and Mediawan Kids & Family to create a family-friendly animated movie titled “Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie.” As part of Volkswagen’s global e-strategy, the film will showcase the characters driving various fully electric cars from the Volkswagen ID.Family.

“Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie. E-mobility is cool, and it is exciting. This is a perfect match with the characters and the story. We are thrilled that the movie’s beloved characters will experience their adventures with different fully electric cars of our Volkswagen ID. family.”

-Nelly Kennedy, Volkswagen’s Chief Marketing Officer

Wow, seeing how popular the “Miraculous” series has become is fantastic! The Miraculous movie will stretch across the big screen in over 100 markets worldwide, a testament to its success. Unsurprisingly, it has ranked number one in many countries, with over 33 billion views on YouTube, and is available in over 130 countries. The “Miraculous” movie will premiere in theaters worldwide on July 5th, 2023. And for those who can’t make it to the theater, it’s great that it will also be available for streaming on Netflix starting on July 28th, 2023.

Heroes and Electric Mobility Make Perfect Sense

It’s incredible how the VW designers of the ID. lineup worked closely with the movie animation and the automaker’s marketing teams to ensure the cars fit perfectly into the movie’s look and feel. It’s also exciting to witness the integration of two futuristic city cars into the storyline, with Cat Noir driving the ID.4 and empowering Ladybugin, her concept car electric Beetle. In addition, the luxury ID.Vizzon will be associated with the successful stylist Gabriel Agreste, while the iconic Volkswagen ID. Buzz will function as Tom’s Bakery’s delivery vehicle.

Electric Mobilities Impact on the Big Screen

It’s terrific to see Volkswagen taking such a proactive approach toward sustainable transportation. The German automaker’s-commitment to becoming climate-neutral by 2050 is truly commendable, as plans for launching ten new all-electric models by 2026 draw closer. And how cool is it to see electric vehicles featured in a major movie like The Miraculous Universe film? It’s a great way to promote the values of ecology and sustainability, and it’s a perfect fit with Volkswagen’s “Way to Zero” initiative.

“From the very beginning of the incredible adventure of the film, the collaboration with Volkswagen appeared to us as a natural fit. Our two brands have many values in common. Transmitting the values of a better world is also our responsibility as producers.”

-Producers of Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, Aton Soumache and Emmanual Jacomet

“With my creative team, I had a lot of fun adapting the iconic vehicles of the Volkswagen brand to the world of Miraculous and to integrate them seamlessly into the film and the Parisian settings. Ladybug and Cat Noir represent the new generation, and the vehicles in the film embody that modernity. For me, it is crucial to convey an essential message: taking care of our environment to live in a better world tomorrow”
