An All-New 2024 Special-Edition Volkswagen Passat is on the Horizon

Volkswagen announced an all-new Passat Estate edition coming soon. The premiere showed the first images of the long-awaited Passat variant. The new Passat Estate will feature a new powerful aerodynamic layout, high-efficiency powertrains, and a host of the latest technologies. This powerful vehicle continues to be unveiled for the first time at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The Passat and its new versatile variant becomes available in the first quarter of 2024. Volkswagen’s Passat is considered the company’s best-selling vehicle after the Golf, with more than 34 million units sold worldwide.
“The latest evolutionary stage of the modular transverse matrix (MQB evo) forms the highly innovative technical basis for the ninth-generation Passat. Thanks to the significant economies of scale of the MQB EVO, Volkswagen has once again democratized numerous high-tech developments and made them available to hundreds of thousands of drivers,” said Kai Grünitz, Member of the Board of Management responsible for Technical Development.
The 2024 Volkswagen Passat Estate is packed with innovations that are guaranteed to take the driving experience to a whole new level. The vehicle features a range focused on meeting customers’ evolving needs. This new range comprises three new plug-in hybrid engines and five variants of turbocharged engines. The Passat Variant’s innovative technological advancements allow drivers to enjoy a non-impactful and quite pleasurable journey, delivering a high level of ride comfort. In addition, a new adaptive chassis control (DCC Pro) is available as an add-on and new proactive seats are available for the interior. For the first time, the 2024 Passat will feature user-friendly functions in the digital cockpit environment, and with the implementation of the assisted driving mode, the vehicle enables the driver to drive long distances and park independently.
The 2024 Passat is equipped with two renewed hybrid plug-in powertrains (hybrid), which allow the vehicle to maximize power efficiency and minimize environmental impact. Both powertrains have a power output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 200 kW (272 hp), integrating seamlessly with a 19.7 kW battery, delivering an all-electric range of 62 miles. Featuring the ability to recharge its battery, the Volkswagen Passat Variant permits drivers to enjoy the benefits of electric driving for everyday life.
The interior of the vehicle has been completely redesigned, and the highlight is the large landscape display with an elegant, practical, and advanced design. This display uses the MIB4 as its technical platform. This state-of-the-art modular infotainment matrix provides the vehicle with an intuitive operation that can be adapted to the desires of Volkswagen buyers. The Variant features unique state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, including optional Park Assist Plus, Park Assist Pro, and the memory function for Park Assist Pro. The launch of the new Passat Estate will be a peek into the future of driving and is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.
